|Music for Youth - Saturday, 15th March
Last Saturday, 15th March, the Youth Band travelled to Wrexham to take part in a regional heat of the Music for Youth Festival. There are over 70 regional heats held all over the country, all attempting to get to play at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
The Band were very well received by the audience, made up of the other groups who were taking part. More importantly the feedback from the music mentors was fabulous. It included phrases like "fantastic!", "A great performance!", "Loved it" and "A very musical performance". Hopefully we did enough to qualify for Birmingham in July.
The co-operative Youth Wind Bands - new CD Recording
On the 5th /6th October 2013 all three Bands recorded tracks for their second CD at The Dingle Primary School, Haslington, (by kind permission of Mr. Ben Cox).
It was released for sale on the 15th November at the Alder Hey charity concert.
Called "You Can't Stop the Beat", it went on sale with our previous CD "The Eye of the Tiger".
The CD has been supported by a grant of £1,500 from The Love Music Trust, to whom we are very grateful.
Both CDs are available at our concerts, or can be obtained from the band.
