Elworth Hall Primary School -March 2017

Ruth Rhodes, the Principal Cornet player of the Youth Band and a sixth form pupil at Sandbach High School, organised a concert at Elworth Hall Primary School as part of her EPQ. The concert was in aid of the school refurbishment of the library and Band funds. Ruth organised everything for the concert from selling tickets, creating programmes, refreshments and sourcing raffle prizes which all led to a very successful concert.

Love Music Trust Conductor’s Workshop - January 2017

The Youth Band were invited to be the band in residence for the above event. The Band travelled to Fallibroome Academy, Macclesfield and spent the afternoon being conducted by conductors of varying standards. Russell Gray, a world renowned cornet player and conductor led the course.

National Concert Band Festival

In November 2016 the Youth Band took part for the first time in the prestigious National Concert Band Festival  in Oldham. This is open to bands of all ages & abilities. We were delighted to gain a Gold Award with some extremely positive feed back.
Newcastle Music Festival - March 2017

This year has seen the Junior Band go from strength to strength. From September, they have put a lot of hard work and effort into rehearsing a programme for this competition. The band received some amazing comments from the adjudicator for their superb use of dynamics and ensemble playing. This led to a Distinction for their performance.
St Luke’s Hospice Charity Concert - March 2017

Following on from the successful fundraising concert for St. Luke’s Hospice last year, the bands put on another fantastic concert at Nantwich Civic Hall. The concert featured the The concert featured the newly formed co-operative Jazz Band. This year’s concert was concert was supported by Air Products, who kindly sponsored the venue for the event and Spar, Wells Green who provided £200 of raffle prizes. There were also prizes donated from Marks and Spencer, Nantwich, Morrisons, Nantwich, The Hair Lounge, Nantwich  and Wyevale Garden Centre, Bridgemere. The concert raised a staggering 1044 for such a worthy cause.
Inspirational Concert at Weaver Primary School - March 2017

The Junior Band were asked to perform a short concert which would inspire and motivate some of the school’s young musicians. The programme selected was full of pieces the youngsters would know and included a piece which both bands could play together. It was a delight to see so many young musicians performing and we hope we have inspired some of them to come along and join us and progress further in their musical journey.
Music for Youth - March 2017

The Youth Band travelled to Rochdale Town Hall to take part in the regional heats of Music for Youth. The Band performed to a very high standard and received some excellent feed back from the Music Mentors. The pieces the Band played were Appalachian Morning by Robert Sheldon and Pastime with Good Company arranged by Philip Sparke.
Music for Youth - July 2017

On Friday 7th July, the Youth Band travelled to Birmingham to perform in the National Festival of Music For Youth. It was a fabulous day and the band played superbly. Many soloists were on show for the band and the programme went down very well with the music mentors. This was another fantastic opportunity to play at one of the world's best concert halls. It was a day to remember.
