Concert 7th Oct Nantwich Civic Hall

The annual joint concert of the co-operative Wind Bands (Crewe) and The co-operative Funeralcare Band North West was a resounding success.
The packed hall, including the deputy mayor of Nantwich, councillor John Lewis and his consort Mrs Pauline Lewis, were treated to an evening of very  varied music.
The Junior Wind Band started the concert in fine fashion and featured Liz, Liam and Nathaniel playing The Pink Panther. They were folllowed by the brass band and featured their principle cornet player Mike Jones and the first half was brought to a close with The Beginner Wind Band featuring Kitty and Kirsten on Flute.
The Youth Wind Band opened the second half and began their programme with The Marches of John Williams in recognition of his lifetime achievement award. Happy birthday crept into the programme for Lloyd and Ffion - more surprising that they are brother and sister celebrating on the same day! The Youth Band programme was very well received by the packed audience.
The second spot for The Funeralcare Band included Dan Morgan Euphonium soloist and was rounded off by the band playing Shine as the Light by Peter Graham.

Concert on 18th November with the Nantwich Young Voices

Well done to The Junior Band that took part in the Joint Concert at Shavington High School with The Nantwich Young Voices on 18th November.
The Band was set up by a small group of players and their  parents and at 2.15 p.m. the Concert began.
The Band featured a Saxophone quartet in The Pink Panther and Nantwich Young Voices entertained an appreciative audience with numbers including Flash Bang Wallop and Don't Call Us with a reference to Mr. Cowell included.!
This was the first Concert with the two groups and proved very successful. We look forward to performing together in the future.
Our thanks must go to Mrs C. White, headteacher at Shavington High School for allowing us to use the School Hall as part of our Partnership with The High School.
